NEDAC

Complex and Multiple Needs Service

From NEDAC’s inception, as Support Help and Advice on Drug Addiction (SHADA) in 1983, our motivation has been to provide the local community with a person-centred service for those affected by substance use. Over the past, almost 40 years, the service has continually developed in response to client needs. In 2016, we established our Complex and Multiple Needs Service,  for those with co-occurring mental health and substance use issues, combined with social and physical health problems, who struggle to engage with and/or be retained in, treatment services. Initial funding was secured, from the National Lottery, for 3 years from October 2017.

We were awarded a further 3 years funding from the National Lottery from April 2021. We are currently jointly funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, Edinburgh Alcohol and Drug Partnership: and newly awarded Scottish Government/Corra Foundation funding, for an additional Mental Health and Addiction Worker, from April 2022 to March 2024.

We would like to invite you to join our Board of Directors to support the continued development and direction of the work we do. We meet quarterly, online for the past two years, with any additional business dealt with by phone and email.
